Core Feature

Every Filing Type. Every Deadline. Tracked.

Form 1120 due April 15. Q1 quarterly sales tax due April 30. Form 1099-NEC due January 31. T2 corporate due 6 months after year-end. Monthly GST/HST due on the 30th. Payroll, WSIB, IRS Form 2848, CRA T1013 — your firm manages dozens of filing types with different deadlines, frequencies, and rules across both jurisdictions. MyCPACRM tracks them all with auto-calculated IRS and CRA deadlines and customizable workflow stages.

Province & state packs

Jurisdiction-specific filings — provincial in Canada (WSIB, EHT, OBR, MRQ) and state in the US (e.g. New York CT-3, NYS-45, state sales tax) — set up for your province or state during onboarding.

Don't see your filing? Create it.

Add a custom filing in two steps — name it, then set its deadline rule and reminder schedule. It works exactly like a built-in filing from there: auto-calculated dates, reminders, document checklists and workflow.

Feature Deep Dive

Complete Filing Intelligence

Every aspect of tax filing management, designed for the way CPA firms in the US and Canada actually work.

Any Filing Type

Every major CRA and IRS filing built in (examples: 1040, 1120, 1065, 1099 · T2, GST/HST, Payroll, T1, T3), plus province/state packs and custom filings — each with its own deadline rules.

Custom Workflow Stages

Define your own pipeline stages with custom names, colors, and order. Status changes are logged. Optional auto-emails on stage transitions.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions

What tax filing types does MyCPACRM track?

All major US filings — Form 1040, 1040-ES, 1120 / 1120-S, 1065, Schedule C, 1099-NEC / MISC / INT / DIV / K, W-2, multi-state sales tax — plus all major Canadian filings — T1, T2 (CCPC / public / professional), T3 (trust), T4 / T4A, T5, GST/HST (monthly / quarterly / annual), payroll remittance, WSIB (Ontario), EHT, MRQ (Quebec), OBR / provincial corporate annual returns. Custom filing types are supported for state-specific, province-specific, or service-specific work.

How are IRS and CRA filing deadlines calculated?

Deadlines auto-calculate from each client's year-end, fiscal period, jurisdiction, and filing frequency — following the IRS or CRA's actual rules, not approximations. Example (US): Form 1120 is due on the 15th day of the 4th month after fiscal year-end (April 15 for calendar-year corps). Example (Canada): T2 filings are due 6 months after year-end; balance owing due 2 months (or 3 for CCPCs claiming small business deduction). MyCPACRM tracks filing and balance-owing deadlines separately.

Can MyCPACRM handle 1040 / T1 personal tax season specifically?

Yes. The Tax Season Tracker module is purpose-built for personal tax season (April 15 in the US, April 30 in Canada) — separate workflow board, deadline-driven prioritization, family group linkage, e-signature integration for IRS Form 2848 / 8821 or T183, document collection per spouse / dependent, instalment tracking, and authorization status (CRA Represent a Client / IRS e-Services). Designed for the volume and pace of personal tax season.

Does MyCPACRM file tax returns to the IRS or CRA directly?

No. MyCPACRM is a practice management platform, not a tax-preparation engine. It manages workflow, deadlines, communications, and documents around tax preparation. The actual return is prepared and filed through dedicated tax-prep software — US: Drake, ProSeries, Lacerte, UltraTax, Intuit ProConnect; Canada: ProFile, TaxCycle, CCH iFirm.

Can I add custom filing types for my firm's specific services?

Yes. Custom filing types are supported with configurable deadline rules, reminder schedules, and required documents. Example custom types: business plan reviews, CFO advisory engagements, audit preparation. Treated identically to built-in filing types in the workflow.
